Ahhhhhhh, you graduate school and you're on your own. You figure your poor stressed out brain can take a break and just "veg" and ruminate on all that you have already stored.
Then reality kicks in.
You get a new job - you've gotta figure out all that goes with it. New people, new tasks, new filing systems, how office politics works, the list goes on and on.
Then you quit your job and start a new one. You are a mother. That's it. No instruction manual, you learn it as you go. You raise your children and the days go by. You see them learning and you learn to teach them. It is an exciting time.
Well, I'm in the process of learning something new yet again. Technology. MP3 players. Need I say more.
I was so blessed to get a MP3 player for Christmas. It is awesome. Yesterday, I jammed while cleaning the bathrooms during Abby's nap. The speakers are attached to your ears and you are transported to another reality where "Start Me Up" really gets you going while scrubbing those toilets. Now, though, I want to create my own playlists - no idea how. I want to use an easier program to sync with my Sandisk Sansa - is there such a thing? I want to delete all the super lame songs that came on it - again - I AM NOT IN GENERATION NEXT. These things have not been embedded in my subconscience. So, I trudge on. I will master this!
Abby and Luke are learning new things too. Luke helped me make bread dough this morning. I explained that the yeast would eat the honey and make gas. That started a whole conversation. I now know that I must go and research the process of bread baking before I try and explain it to my 4 year old.
Abby is learning to use the potty. What a good girl! I wish there was a disc that I could download into her and she would automatically start doing the right processes. She is learning though. I find it amazing and fascinating that she can go #2 in her panties without going #1. The girl is talented and I hope that wasn't TMI!
So, anyone who took the time to read this - continue on! Learn more! Realize that you are learning, even when it is just to get through the day.
God bless.
