Helpful Children

I really have been blessed by having two very helpful children. You know the kind, they want to help and fight to procure the best advantage point in helping mommy. Luke is great in the kitchen - he loves to help cook. At breakfast time, he enjoys getting all the food out and on the counter ready to assemble. Abby is getting good at putting away toys, especially the food that belongs to her playset downstairs. Both children like to take a little hand broom and sweep the walls for me saying "I'm cleaning Mommy!"

But then there are times when you wish they really hadn't helped. Like last Saturday when Abby decided to put soap in the dishwasher without asking. I'd say there was enough "sugar soap" as she puts it, to last about a week of daily washings. The day will come when they want nothing to do with helping around the house, so I'll enjoy it now!
