Since Luke's birthday is Saturday, I am in charge of bringing snacks for the first week of school. Tomorrow they will celebrate Luke's birthday so that means I get to bring cup cakes. I haven't made these before but Luke picked them out. They are called Cream Filled Cupcakes and I got the recipe from (where else?) Allrecipes.com. I made up the chocolate icing but the "hostess" decorating idea came from the website.

I think they are adorable!

Great job! Those are beautiful!!! Today is Dakota's b'day, he's 12! My how fast they grow.
Very Nice!! Bet they taste really good too. But much too fancy for Kindergarteners to chow down.
I think I agree with Wanda! These cupcakes are pretty high class for a bunch of kiddos that will chomp them down in seconds! Glad you took pictures so we can appreciate their beauty! I wouldn't mind a taste too! Maybe I should join Kindergarten again.
Yumm! How did you get the frosting so smooth??
By the way, thanks for your comment on my blog that you liked my hair! Yeah, you always knew me when it was short! It is a little stacked in the back now, but not a lot.
I have fun reading your blog!
Hey Noelle!
The frosting was the easiest part. I melted some non-sweetened cocoa pieces (like an ounce) with a few tablespoons of butter in the micro. Then I stirred in powdered sugar (around a cup) and then milk until it was like a glaze consistency. Then I simply dipped the tops in the chocolate glaze and let them dry. It was so easy to do!
