A New Bug

This summer we "invested" (I use the term lightly) in a butterfly net for the kids. We've had lots of fun catching butterflies and moths. Oh, and they also use it to catch grasshoppers and crickets for the neighbors' lizard. So we're often looking (the nerds we are) at the plants for other insects. We came across this one and I don't think either of us recognized it as seeing it before. A quick Google image search returns that it is called a Candy Striped Leafhopper. And it is very common. But small.
