The Beginning and End

I have a joyus heart today. Not a "happy, happy, joy, joy" heart but the joy that can be described as a deep peace. This peace can only be given by God. The reason for this state of my heart is because dear Jackie Bacon passed away last night. She's with God now and I am so thankful for this. She personally knew Jesus, was blessed in this relationship and know she's in His everlasting presence. Halleluia!

Tears have already flowed and I know that they will again. She had a way about her that made you feel as though you had been part of her family for a long, long time. I'll never forget the day we went to Vegas to meet her and Marc and to show off our son (her great grandson, Luke). We went to get lunch together. During that time we ran into one of the managers of the casino. She introduced us as her "grandson, Michael; grandaughter, Tanna and their son, Luke." I kinda laughed and said "Well, I'm married to Mike, I'm really not her grandaughter." She corrected me saying that I should never say that again. That I was thought of as being the same as all her other grandchildren. That really blessed my heart. As well as my last phone conversation with her. She told me how happy she was that Mike married me, that he couldn't have found a better wife. That coming from her was one of the hugest compliments I could ever have received.

I'm holding my little girl, Abby, as I type this. Life goes by so quickly. Enjoy your family, love one another. Get to know God so that when it is time to go meet Him, you're just going to see an old friend in person. God bless, Tanna
