Luke started preschool last Tuesday. He's enjoying it. On Wednesday, AWANA started up again (and now Abby gets to go too!). Thursday was his 5th birthday! Wowza! And I don't have any pictures but his best buddy Caleb (and two of his siblings) got to come over Saturday evening. Life may seem a trite dull after all that.
Here's Luke with his "issued" school bag which we got to decorate.
Here are some pictures from his birthday.
My sad attempt at cake decorating. It is supposed to be a dinosaur (okay, a dinosaur breathing fire). Luke thought is was a dog while I was putting the green "details" on it. He needed to leave the kitchen for a little bit after that.

LOL! I LOVE the cake. At least you tried--which is a lot more than you can say for me. For variety I let them pick out the color of sprinkles they want on their cakes!
Thanks for the support - I'm thinking Abby's going to get a round cake for her birthday. She can help put the pink sprinkles on it! Incidentally, I'm doing a carrot cake with her. I get caked out pretty easy on the yellow/white stuff.
Save a piece for me in the freezer--carrot cake is my fave!!
I am glad Luke enjoys preschool. Wonderful birthday pictures. Did you have a special pan for Luke's cake? Carrot Cake?? Abby's choice or your choice? Take a look at Grace's Birthday cake. The flower was easy- frost cake white- take a glass mark the flower center with it-then go around the outside with the glass to make petals- last frost.
Wanda, no special cake pan - I used this website to do it http://jas.familyfun.go.com/

Abby likes any kind of cake and she really didn't go to town on Luke's so I figure she'd be fine with the carrot cake (since she only really wants the frosting!).
