Last Friday, I put an item on Craigslist. Of course, while I was there, I couldn't help but look around. I found a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker that had only been used once (it was a wedding present) and the owner said "make me an offer." I love that! So I made an offer and I got it after the first offer fell through. So, I'm pretty excited to make some ice cream (or sorbet or sherbert!). I think the first flavor will be cinnamon ice cream. And if you haven't tried cinnamon ice cream then I really recommend that you do so! Especially on apple pie....mmmmm. (Okay, in the span of when I first started typing this post and til now, I made peppermint dark chocolate chip ice cream -mmmmmmm - Luke convinced me).
Another new thing, is that I put Libby's hair into pig tails. So adorable! Abby even said that! It has been half a day and so far they are still in, so far so good!
We also let the kids (Luke & Abby anyway) sleep in our tent in the basement this last weekend. They were so excited they were bouncing off the walls. Gotta love delight in the little things!
We took a GIANT leap forward in organizing our storage area in the basement. It is looking so tidy now. Let me tell you, shelving really helps - utilize that vertical space! I'd like another sturdy unit (or two) to put some more boxes on but I'm happy with what we have right now. Isn't it a thing of beauty?
I also made fruit leather (think homemade fruit roll-ups) for the first time. The kids love it! I made a peach/pineapple flavor. Here is a site describing how to do it: Fruit Leather How-To Word to the wise, I used our silpat for this and it worked wonderfully! Especially because I cheated and ran the oven at 170 (the lowest temp that I can use with the convection fan on). It only took mine four hours.
Lastly, I never did post a picture of how the painted basement turned out (remember the oops paint I got for 5 bucks and the kids' artwork?). Here's a picture of that:

Oh I just love the pictures of Little Libby. So So Sweat!!
I did some organizing in our storage room on Pres. Day. It is amazing how one big pile of stuff really isn't that much when it is organized.
The blue paint is soothing. That is kind of the color I want Andrew's room someday.

Ok when I get home I'm coming over for ice cream! My mom has quite the fun on Craigs List down here, but I've resisted the urge to shop due to no room in the van to haul back any goodies.
