Warm in February

I joked back in December and even in January when we were experiencing record lows that it would be in the 50's in February. And God, the good God that He is, allowed it to reach 50 plus for a few days. It was wonderful! Even the wind didn't bother me as I knew it was helping to melt and dry up the snow and slush. As it is, there is very little snow to be seen. However, I hear we've got a chance to get some more. But that is okay, we've had our respite and spring is literally around the corner. I tried to turn our compost pile as I didn't get a chance to do so before the really cold weather set in - we were lending our tarp out and I use that to dump it on so as not to make a huge mess! But, alas, it was a giant compost sickle! But I've got to get some gardening out of my system so I'm going to start cool weather crops inside today: cabbage, broccoli, & romaine lettuce. They can go out the last week in March or the first week in April. The mumbo jumbo from the Farmer's Almanac says that the last week in March is the best time this year (the moon phase and what not), but I don't really hold to it......although, my first planting of radishes last year did much better than the one's I planted ten days later.....hmmmm

Anyway! Here's what you really come to our blog to see - pictures of the kids! From yesterday at the park....
