No News = Good News?

Or perhaps just boring news? :)

So, what's been going on in our lovely, albeit cold, house? Here are some updates.

Luke started basketball, his first team sport ever, this month. He's really enjoying it and thinking he could possibly choose it as a career choice. I told him not to bet on it. Sorry, I am a dream CRUSHER, aren't I? I am so glad he's enjoying it but have my serious doubts that it is in his genetic make-up. Especially since he continually tries to put his hands in his pockets on the court. Sigh. Real, predisposed players will not try to have their hands in their pockets out on the court. I'm pretty sure at least. But we keep encouraging him and he's having lots of fun and getting some good exercise - for which I'm very glad! I'll update you later, at the end of the season, with the progress I am sure he'll have made.

Luke has made a lot of progress in his writing. I can see each day that his spelling is getting better and better. I'll miss the days when I need to decipher his writing. My favorite from the last "weekend book" he wrote was the word "dlishish." Yes, he does like my cooking ;)

Abby has taken to being Libby's "mommy or mama." I'm annoyed to no end. When they are playing this game, I'm called "grandma" which I don't really care for very much. They are not allowed to call me grandma. I'm mom or mommy or mama and by golly, I've worked hard to earn that title! Abby also got her dance costume for the June recital. Fun stuff! Very colorful and dinosaur-like to go with their song about dinosaurs.

Libby is staying dry at nights and I haven't bought pull-ups in a couple of months. Yeah! We do have our occasional small accidents but I can deal with them. Especially since she's actually begun taking herself without my prompting her. Libby's speaking is getting more and more clear. Much like Luke's spelling, I know I am going to miss the days when she says words that I need to decipher. :)

I've been busy playing with recipes in my mind and they've eventually made their way to our dinner plates. So far, I'm about 50/50 with what is in my mind and how they've come out. Hehehe. Anyway, I've entered another 3 contests in the past few weeks. No real hopes of winning anything but if I don't enter I know my percentage chance of winning :).

Mike has been looking and looking and looking and looking......get the idea? at booking a trip for us for spring break. Florida? Puerto Rico? Texas? The confines of a budget really do mess with spontaneity (unless we had twice as much saved, then it may be easier!).

My parents are coming to visit next weekend. Can't wait to see them! Stay away bad storms!

That was hilarious. I tend to be a dream crusher too, but it's usually my husband's that I crush.
I loved that part about the girls calling you Grandma. I laughed so hard. My girls play and Emmee will call out, "MOM". When I answer she says, "oh, I'm not talking to you, Cassee's the mom right now." That drives me nuts, they do that ALL the time!
Have fun with your parents!!
