Psalm 34:8 (ESV)Today has been a cloudy, dreary day. I had thought spring was here but it seems as though winter has a hold over Iowa (although not a death grip like it has on ND!). It can really get a gardener down. I prayed for some encouragement from the Lord. And I received a phone call from a friend and we chatted. That was great encouragement! The Lord is really so good.
"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him."
Then I sat down to the computer. The phone rang again. Hmmmmm, Kansas Wheat something or another was on the caller id. I figured it was a telemarketer.
The very nice woman on the other end started asking how it was in Iowa today. I said exactly what I was thinking "good but it's snowing!" Seems as though Kansas has similar weather today ;) Then she explained who she was and started asking me about the recipe I submitted to the 2009 National Festival of Breads recipe contest, I answered her questions and finally she told me I was a winner! I cannot tell you how excited I am! I won a cash prize and a trip to the contest's bake off in Wichita, KS in June. Yea! But I marvel at when I needed just a little, the Lord opened a flood gate of encouragement onto me.

That's awesome! I want to know this amazing recipe!! Happy Belated Birthday too. I thought of it on the 3rd, away from my house and then forgot later on! Sorry. I hope you had a fabulous day. 31 is an exciting year!!
So what was the recipe for?
The recipe was for the bread I make every week. It is one I've modified after looking at a lot of different recipes. I posted a very similar one on my other blog.
Congratulations! Especially since it's one of your regularly used ones! Mom's need some encouragement sometimes for the chores they do!
